DRC April Forum







DRC April Forum, Monday, April 18, at Parker’s Lighthouse.  This is the bimonthly meeting with the larger Downtown residential community.  Kris Larson, Joen Garnica and Michael Mosselli will all be featured presenters at this forum.   They will share the Shop Local Campaign, Downtown is Amazing Race, and the East Village Association. Doors will open at 6:30pm. Program starts at 7pm and end at 8:30pm, followed by social hour!!!

Code Enforcement Meeting

This meeting gives neighbors a platform to report code violations they observe occurring in the Willmore City / Drake Park Historic District and the West End neighborhoods with a City of Long Beach Code Enforcement representative.

Downtown’s Amazing Race

Gather your team, polish your skills and make your way out to Downtown Long Beach for Downtown’s Amazing Race. If you are a fan of the show or love a good game, this promises to be the ultimate adventure. Part physical, part intellectual, part daring and never dull.

Teams consist of two to four people and the cost of participation is just $75 per team. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up today to reserve your spot!

Teams will be competing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Prizes!

Events in May

May Day Festival in Drake Park

May Day Festival in Drake Park. May 7, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00.  Come and enjoy the festivities of an “old fashioned May Day” at the Historic Victorian Bembridge House and Drake Park.  There will be Maypole dancing performed by the local children as well as games for all ages, free food, a jumper, children’s books, crafts and other festive activities. A Health Fair will offer information and screening services.  Bembridge House tours will be offered from 1:00 to 3:00 for a $2 donation. Children under 12 are free with an adult.

This is a great opportunity to experience a bit of yesterday. Reservations are not required.

Willmore City Heritage Association will be hosting a bake sale and small rummage sale. Donate your old wares and help support the wonderful programs at our neighborhood park. Prior to the event items can be dropped off at Amy & Malte’s House at 519 10th Street.  Or you can drop your wares off from 12pm -1pm on May 7 at Drake Park.  Contact for additional information.
